Bought a used trundle bed 20 years ago. The lower trundle bed frame and mattress laid under my bed for the last 20 years, I've never used it.
If you aren't sure what a trundle bed is, check the internet. The lower bed frame collapses low enough to put under the top bed. The mattress came with the bed but it was always indoors until two days ago. When the frame is up and locked it is a low bed. It obviously would be higher if you added a boxspring.
You'll need to load it yourself. The bed is in the up position.
