We have 2 Parakeets. 1male, 1 Female. They are brother and sister. They are very close and have "Bonded" but not mated. The male was from a first clutch and was born with splay leg and while it doesn't slow him down, (he gets around just fine) I believe it may prevent him from being able to hold a "Mating" position. The Female is about 3 months younger than the male but has the same parents, she is in perfect condition and is about 6-7 months old. It is not a good idea for siblings to mate since the babies might have congenital defects. These two are happy and healthy I feed them fresh greens from our garden and I grow wheat grass and organic dandelion greens for them also. But their base diet is a good seed mix. I am looking for a home for them that already has several parakeets. I would like for them to be introduced into an Aviary of at least 5 or more parakeets and or cockatiels, parrots, love birds etc. I don't care which particular kinds of birds as long as there are at least a few other parakeets for them to play with. Also, obviously anyone with a large space for birds and parakeets hopefully will have a lot of experience with birds. I do not have time to finger train them and they are not familiar enough with humans to be allowed to fly around the house or room. Also we have 14 foot ceilings and it is to difficult to get them back into the cage. I don't feel right about keeping them in a cage where they have so little room to fly which is why I would be so happy to give them to someone who has dedicated a space to keeping an Aviary for birds. You can keep the cage or sell it. I have lots of toys, feeding dishes, bathing tubs, Branch perches etc... all included. If you have an Aviary and are looking for a young healthy fertile female and a young healthy but slightly splay legged male then please contact me at show contact info
. You can call or text me anytime before 9:00pm.
