Bought a used trundle bed 20 years ago.
If you aren't sure what a trundle bed is, check the internet. The lower bed frame collapses low enough to put under the top bed IF IT'S HIGH ENOUGH. ROUGHLY 14 INCHES CLEARANCE IS NEEDED.
When the frame is up and locked it is a low bed. It obviously would be higher if you added a boxspring.
You'll need to load it yourself. The frame is locked in the up position.
