Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Transmission Builder to diagnose, disassemble, rebuild, and reassemble automatic transmissions with accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced automotive repair environment.
Key Responsibilities:
*Diagnose transmission and drivability concerns
*Remove, disassemble, inspect, and rebuild automatic transmissions
*Inspect transmission components for wear, damage, or failure
*Replace or repair gears, clutches, seals, bearings, valve bodies, torque converters, and related components
*Perform transmission testing and quality control checks
*Maintain clean and organized work areas
*Follow manufacturer specifications and shop procedures
*Document repairs and communicate findings with service advisors or management
*Assist with troubleshooting difficult transmission issues when needed
*Ensure all repairs meet safety and performance standards
Qualifications
*Minimum 5 years of transmission rebuilding experience preferred
*Strong knowledge of automatic transmission systems
*Ability to diagnose transmission-related problems accurately
*Experience with domestic and Asian applications preferred
*Familiarity with diagnostic scan tools and transmission testing equipment
*Valid driver’s license with clean driving record preferred
*Ability to lift heavy components and work in a shop environment
