Maintenance Mechanic position available for demolition contractor. The position consists of maintenance and repair of heavy construction equipment, Preventative maintenance and repair on small engines, saws, hand and power tools, light trucks and vehicles, forklifts, reach lifts, etc. Maintenance mechanic is responsible for: Repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment, inspections, material handling, deliveries, warehouse inventory and parts ordering, etc.
Ensures operation of mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance and procedures on light vehicles, small engines, saws, hand and power tools.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
Removes and replaces defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, hand and power tools.
Fabricates repair parts by using sheet metal and other supplies.
Utilizes misc metal working equipment and processes such as arc welding, oxygen/acetylene, MIG, TIG and plasma methods to perform welding functions.
Troubleshoot, adjust and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.
Prepare PM paperwork and BIT inspections.
Identify and order parts and replenish inventory.
Maintain proper labeling and placarding of waste oils and fluids.
