Position Description: General Sales Manager
Reports to: Operations Director
Position Summary: The General Sales Manager is responsible for ensuring the facility meets its new, fleet and used vehicle unit and F&I sales and gross profit objectives on a daily, monthly and annual basis. Will accomplish these objectives through planning, organizing, training, coordinating and measuring the activities of the New and Used Vehicle Sales Departments. Must present a professional appearance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Educational: High school diploma or the equivalent.
Experience: Three years of automotive sales experience including finance and insurance. Two years in a dealership management position.
Special Skills (i.e., licenses, certifications): Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Strong managerial skills necessary. Ability to use personal computer applications including word processing and spreadsheet software. Current valid driver’s license and state sales license.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. Occasionally requires the ability to lift 20 pounds of material. Is potentially exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning materials or other toxic materials commonly found in a motor vehicle dealership. Occasionally, exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
