In the Box / Base Crate Engine ($759.00): This is the direct cost for the raw, factory-sealed long block engine straight out of the shipping box. It includes the internal race components, the flywheel, the spark plug, and the pull-start, but is completely stock.
The Briggs & Stratton Animal is considered a premium, purpose-built, high-performance four-stroke racing engine.
Performance
Premium Internal Components: Unlike regular small engines, the Animal comes factory-equipped with high-end race parts. This includes a dual ball-bearing racing cylinder, a squeeze-cast racing connecting rod, a forged steel crankshaft, and a chrome-faced racing ring package.
The Ignition & Carburetor Setup: It uses an advanced PVL digital ignition system (which allows it to rev smoothly up to a high RPM limit) paired with a high-performance, fully adjustable Walbro slide carburetor.
