Hello, I would love to have the opportunity to be able to be your tutor. I am working towards a teaching credential in education at California State University, Fresno with the intent to eventually become a full time teacher, so teaching is what I love to do and my true vocational passion. I also have over ten years of tutoring experience. When I'm working one on one with a student, what I like to do is get to know a little bit about his/her interests and academic performance and might also do a quick assessment about his/her learning style in our first session so I can do my best to mold and present the material in an appealing way that is relevant to him/her. It seems to set things up for the rest of our sessions to go really well. For me, adapting my style to what works or trying to explain things in multiple ways seems to improve understanding and retention for the student. I want the student to feel comfortable with me and be able to say that they don't understand or need me to explain it differently to ensure progress. I have tutored students ranging from 1st grade to students in graduate school, but the bulk of my work has been with high school and undergraduate students. I have worked in a variety of settings, ranging from high school and college level student services to volunteering with elementary middle school students to premiere test prep tutoring for high achieving students wishing to receive admission to Ivy League and other tier one schools. I also have experience substitute teaching. Please see the list below for the all the subjects I am available to tutor . When I'm not working or studying for my own school, I enjoy spending time with my friends, watching and playing all kinds of sports, reading, doing church activities, and playing games. I currently have a very flexible schedule, so I am almost guaranteed to be able to fit into your schedule. Have a wonderful day.
