This is a ‘Blue Hole 17A’ Royalex (17ft) tandem with aluminum gunnels, knee pads, and rope tie-ups on both ends. It also includes stable axle dolly wheels for pulling
We have used this canoe for wilderness camping on big lakes (and one 16 mile river run during flood season). As two photos suggest it can carry a big load. It also works well with a small side-mounted motor, and it can cut/bounce easily through big wind waves! With a wife, three kids and a big dog, we’ve had great adventures.
When searching to buy, one thing that kept coming up for us was to stay away from boats that are unstable if kids or dogs move around. Guaranteed, this is a great boat!
The canoe is also unsinkable – we tried to sink it in a lagoon but couldn’t! The only part above water, with kids in it, was the gunnels.
This is because it’s designed with a large volume of air trapped within the hull, not foam taking up space in the front & back. You won’t find any of this in cheaper boats!
