OPPOSE SENATE BILL 1499, Which bans the sale of foil balloons in CA

WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP.
If this bill gets passed, it would mean that it would be against the law to sell or distribute helium filled mylar balloons in California.
People should be educated NOT to release mylar/foil balloons, instead of banning them.
SB 1499 went before the CA Senate 4/28/08, Monday at 2 pm PST. The Senate vote was 16 ayes, 14 noes, and 10 not voting. YEA! You Rocked! Thank You So Much for All of Your Time and Contacts!
BUT...it is not done. Senator Scott requested "reconsideration" which means he has one more shot to get the votes from the Senate floor. That could happen as early as their next vote on Thursday May 1, 2008.
So here is what we need to happen.

This senate bill has moved so fast we also need your help networking. If you network with businesses please contact them e.g. florists, caterers, meeting planners, etc. Urge them to send this information on to their contacts and call their Senators.
What is needed depends on how your Senator voted. See Below for list of Senators/district/contact phone number.
****The Senators that did not vote**** are the ones that need the most phone calls. We want to ensure that their next vote is against SB 1499. We can help that happen if those Senators hear from their constituents. Please call your Senator this week.
****The Senators that voted for it**** need to be contacted to try to persuade them to change their vote. Please call your senator this week.
****The Senators that voted against it**** should be called and thanked. Tell them that you appreciate their vote against SB 1499 today. You hope that they will continue to oppose the SB 1499 when it comes up for reconsideration.
