i am looking for some people to play covers with, i would love to play originals but we'll probably start with some covers, unless you have material. i have a drum set and guitar equipment aswell. i am looking to jam, but would love to get serious with the right players. if that is the case, my goal would be to play some shows. remember, i am very open minded and would like to play music of any kind(style or seriousness)

I am also looking for a DJ/MC or Band/MC that can both play their own music and cover/learn other music. This service would be needed for longer, probably around four hours, and again pay is negotiable. Just Moved Back To Fresno From Sylmar, and I really want to start a band. I'm 18 years old. I avoid conflict, and I can create pretty good music. I grew up on grunge/metal music, and then progressed into punk, ska, indie, and other things. I'am extremely open minded, and I'd hope for the same. Man, I really have no idea what the hell I'm going to do here. I've relocated from Oakland, am a drummer and have sort of given that up for guitar. You just get tired as a drummer, depending on the rest of the band to show up every practice... and plus, it's just not all that fun to walk around town playing your drums... see what I'm getting at?

Anyways, I've normally followed the punk scene and I know I Fresno's punk scene boomed about 20 years ago... but I'd like to help nurture it back a bit if possible. I really like Hot Water Music, Alkaline Trio, Social Distortion, Face to Face, Rancid/Op Ivy, Bad Religion, Nekromantix, Blood for Blood, Hatebreed, and Tiger Army to name a few... so yah, bit of a rockabilly and hardcore influence in there. Although at my skill level with guitar, it kinda makes me just want to get in touch with my punk roots... where anything goes, who gives a shit, play it loud and fast because this is music to you and this is your soul screaming out.

So... who's with me? I move here tomorrow, and am very sad... but will make the most of it. I just want to meet musicians, go to shows and one day make some music again. I'm 27 and have a ton more influence than whats listed and have a job and a truck. I could care less of your age, gender, race and skill level, just be fucking real, be passionate and be reliable. I need to save a bit of money up so I don't expect this to happen over night but I'm always down to drink some beers and play my acoustic and collaborate. Chances are you'll know more than me seeing that I'm a drummer. haha.

Quality vs. Price. How much should I realistically expect to pay for a qualified experienced professional entertainer?

You may be receiving price quotes that range from dirt cheap to slightly higher than you�ve budgeted for�

You may be wondering what the average price is for a DJ.

The answer to that question would depend on several factors, the type of event, the day of the week, how many hours, are other services needed and above all the experience and ability of the DJ. You also need to ask - "What do I get for "X" amount of dollars?". What if two DJs give you the same price quote, but one of them is considerably less qualified and poorly equipped? whats up all, I play bass and guitar and I have a drummer in this too. I've been playing guitar and bass for about ten years and the drummers been playing for about four, but He's a little ahead of the curve. I've been playin with a Las Vegas Blues Band for a while now and I'm lookin to get somethin started in Fresno now.

Influences are anything from the mighty Led Zeppelin to The mystifying Mars Volta.

Were thinkin of doin some classic rock covers everyone can agree upon but mostly originals after we get tight. Serious musicians only and preferably college aged guys or gals who would like to turn money out of this. Dont get me wrong, its not a job, but it takes a little dedication is all, if it sounds goo drop us a line.

I'm a graduate of G.I.T from 1980. I teach guitar and bass guitar. I teach people how to play by ear and how to play reading notation. I've had former students come up to me on the street to say hello and mention their band playing locally. I've had a couple students become professionals in worship music and at least one who graduated from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Is that what you mean by effective? I certainly can teach someone how to string and tune a guitar as well as other basics.

I feel that understanding the craft of music with all of its notes, harmonic relationships and rhythmic styles is the most important thing.
