The problem with this set is that it has rolling horizontal lines (see pics below)that get better the longer it is left on (warmed up about an hour or so) but never quite go away. This set will need to be fixed. After much research it seems the problem is with the capacitors on the PIP section of the motherboard. This is a great deal for someone who can fix it themselves as Mitsubishi is known for their high quality picture. And this set is no exception. Picture is bright and clear (except for the lines) It was one of the few that had a great viewing angle at the time it was bought. I have a new remote ($80) from Mitsubishi and also all the original paperwork and manuals, etc.
I paid $1500.00 when it was new. This is NOT a low grade set.
I have since dropped another $1500 on a flat screen because I have no time to work on this set but if you do have the time or specialize in tv repair, it's a great deal. Even to pay someone the $300 or so to fix it still puts you well under the $1500 I just paid for a new one.
